Editing the newsletter sites – customising the layout

The newsletter system sends an email to several recipients at once, for example to all registered customers of a particular shop system or all registered users of a forum.

Address lists with emails can be imported and exported. For more details on how to manage this, see the chapter Newsletter. The module contains also features like subscribing and un-subscripting to newsletters.

While in editing mode, click on  Modules -> Newsletter and select a Directory, then click ‘create’. The module creates the underlying database, an entry.html file, an insert.html file, an unsub.html file and a template.html file. Now the newsletter site is accessible via URL http://www.yourdomain.com/newsletter/newsletter.html.

The bluetronix software allows customization of the database template and the html files. To edit any web site, click on the Edit symbol.

While the page is loaded in the editor, its layout, colours and background image can be modified. For further information on how to customise a site in the editor see chapter The homepage editor. Instructions on how to change the global layout can be found at Edit layout.

 

Using multiple installations of the module allows creating different newsletter groups like forum users, shop customers or members of staff.
