How do I create a site without frames and without changing menu or navigation bar for every single page?

Our Content Management System (CMS) works without the disadvantage of frames by using a special system which still includes the functionality implemented by frames. The different web pages like top area, links menu, main area and so on get assembled by the server and will be sent afterwards to a client browser. The advantage of this technique is the possibility to load a web site straight away without losing the different parts of the page. You are still able to edit each page individually.

Why is it better to have a web site without frames?

A frameset consists of a several frames. The main frameset shows the web site correctly. Each frame individually refers to a different HTML page. If a user happens to load just that particular web site, for example by using a search engine link, they will not be able to see the complete frameset. This is especially severe if just the menu page was opened, then the user won’t see any content.

How can I have scrollable frame-like areas at my page without using actual frames?

Our CMS supports scrolling areas. The implementation neither needs frames nor Java script but uses browser-friendly style sheets.

Go to Layout -> Edit layout and activate the scroll bar box of the respective area. Please note that a scroll bar will only appear when content is larger then the size of the main text area.
